I was watching the television news show from China

Friday 31 August 2007 at 10:48 pm August 31, 2007

I was watching a television news show from China. They were talking about the mistranslation problems for the upcoming Olympic Games. There is an elevator for the disabled person; it was translated as “Disabled Elevator”. The restaurant Menu for the “Four Delicious Meatballs” was translated as “Four Happy Meatball”. I thought it was so funny.

Yogi told me, "You are too exposed."

Wednesday 29 August 2007 at 10:46 pm Diary Aug 29, 2007

An e-mail responds to a friend.

Hi,

You never talk to me about yourself. Yet you told me in your dreams you have long discussions, resolving issues. I wonder with whom, God? Well, like all Sigi's kids, you too are full of secrets.

Yogi told me, "You are too exposed." Being an author and a speaker, it is my job to be exposed. People benefit from my stupidity. There is nothing in me that I think I should cover up. Otherwise,an author has to keep two personalities, the hidden one and the exposed one.

When one is so used to covering up the truth, how are you going to be truthful when you write? An author has to be very honest about him or herself. Otherwise, the book will
be reflecting the person, full of pretends. Even when one writes a book about secrets that too has to be very honest.

May be this is the reason Yogi can not express himself. He is so unexposed.

As you know, in my new book, I will be exposing the secrets of the 1.3 billion Chinese. Even with my life in danger, I am happy to share all that I know.

By the way, last time you told me you will go pay your phone bill just for me. This is a con, very much like Curt. Don’t pay your phone bill, certainly not for me.

Wrote an e-mail to a American friend who lives in Taipei

Tuesday 28 August 2007 at 10:44 pm August 28, 2007

I think you need a really good love affair so you won't feel so tired. Of
course, that could make you even more miserable. That is the nature of love
affair unless, you met your soul mate and both of you recognized each other
right the way. So you can skip the standard courtship of torturing each
other.

At the mean time, try some to eliminate your tiredness. Costco has the best
B-complex bill, It is the Costco brand; in side it has a group of bills. I
highly recommended it. I know you hate to go to Costco. I know that Taipei
Costco on the weekend is "unbelievable".

I have George visiting me at my house for the last three days. He is a high
tech person. I spend one thousand five hundred dollars try to upgrade my
technology capabilities. I even bought an international black berry phone. I
use it sole for e-mail so I don't have to carry my computer.

I don't like to write books during my traveling, I like to read and take
notes. To me, traveling time is the time to absorb new "inputs". I do my
"output" at home.

I am a very fast writer and a very slow editor. I still have four books
sitting in my computer for the last eight to twelve years. I just don't feel
I got all the right answers yet, something is not all there, so I can't
published them yet. I am writing my China book first and then go back to one
of those book to re-do it.

George even helped me got a digital camera with DVD; it is no bigger than a
business card. Oh, also a photo printer. George also signed me up at
Linkedin. It is an e-social networking. He sends an invitation to my
reader's who are already in the Linkedin to invite them to link up with me.
Within one day, I have hundred people linked up with me. George was excited.

Well, I have to go back to bed, it is 5.25 am.

Love,

Chin-Ning
